Cisco Phones
All SAU community members are assigned a telephone extension and a phone.
Each phone has a private number and voice mail.
Setting up Voicemail for the First Time
- Lift the receiver
- Press the “messages” button on the phone
- When asked for a password, enter 12345
- Press “4” for set up options
- Press “1” for greetings and transfers
- Record your greeting and press “#” when finished
- To exit, press “*”
Forwarding Calls to Another Phone
- Press “CFwdALL”
- Enter the extension you want to forward your calls to
- In the display screen you should see “Forwarded to (the extension you typed in)
- To stop call forwarding, press CFwdALL again
Dialing an External Phone Number
- Pick up your headset, enter the number “9″ followed by your intended recipient’s phone number
- At the dial tone put in your six digit pin code for long distance calls
Dialing a Long Distance Number
- Pick up your headset, enter the number “9″ followed by your intended recipient’s phone number, including the area code
- At the dial tone put in your six digit pin code for long distance calls if you are a staff member
- Students can use calling cards
Checking Voicemail
- Lift the receiver
- Press the “messages” button on the phone
- When asked for a password, enter 12345 (default) or your password if you changed it
- Pressing the 1 key will play new messages
Checking Voicemails off Campus
- On campus dial 9 and then 750-6600
- Off campus dial (517) 750-6600
- Press “*”
- When asked to enter your ID, enter your phone extension followed by “#”
- When asked for a password, use the one for your voicemail
- Pressing the 1 key will play any new messages
