Trouble Getting to Blackboard
Below are resolutions to common problems encountered when getting into Blackboard
Blackboard Will Not Open
Some pop-up blockers may prevent Blackboard from opening in a new window. If your pop-up blocker seems to be blocking Blackboard from opening, try holding the Control (or Ctrl) button on your keyboard while clicking the link.
Course Does Not Show Up
There are three common reasons a course may not be visible in MySAU or Blackboard…
1. Wrong Semester displayed
MySAU displays information based on sessions (or semesters). To make sure MySAU is displaying the current session, check the drop-down boxes located under the Enrolled Courses section along the right-hand side of the screen. In the picture below, the Program is set to Undergraduate and the Session is set to Fall 2009. This means, MySAU will only display 100-400 level courses for the Fall 2009 semester. Use the drop-down menus to change this.
2. The course is unavailable
In the picture above, each course is accompanied by either a gray or orange circle icon. The gray icon indicates that the course has not yet been made available. The instructor of a course is the only person who can make the course available on Blackboard. If there is no circular icon, this means the course has not been setup on Blackboard yet. Courses do not show up on Blackboard until about three months before they begin.
3. Not enrolled in the course
MySAU displays information collected from current registration data. If a course does not show up for you in MySAU, it could mean that you have not been registered yet. Campus students can confirm this in the Office of Registration and Records. GPS students (including online students) should follow up with their Academic Advisor.
