There are several ways to protect your computer from malicious attacks and maintain your systems performance.

   1. Install Antivirus and Spyware software packages
   2. Keep this software current
   3. Run them on a timely basis
   4. Keep running updates when prompted for your operating system
   5. Remove unnecessary programs
   6. Do routine maintenance as described below

Technology Services provides a copy of AVG for students, faculty and staff using the latest Windows Operating Systems and connecting to the Internet through the SAU network.

Download AVG anti-virus. This tool automatically performs virus detection and removal tasks for specific viruses. If your system is infected the tool will remove the virus and repair any damage.

NOTE: You must remove any other anti-virus software before installing AVG. Failure to do so will result in computer startup issues.
