Blackboard Learn, News & Events

Technology Services recently completed testing and preparations for Blackboard’s latest upgrades. We will be taking the primary system offline to install these upgrades October 8, beginning at 2:30 AM Eastern time. The upgrade will last approximately three hours. As a result of the upgrade you can expect these improvements:

  • Discussion forums can now be re-ordered by drag-and-drop.
  • Announcements will now be visible to the instructor before a course is made available.
  • Some of the issues related to the Visual Text Box Editor have been resolved.
  • Discussion board slowness will be improved.

If you have questions or concerns about the upgrade, please contact the help desk at x1234 or 877-728-9880.

While this upgrade does not resolve every problem, it does address some of the community’s most pressing concerns. Remaining issues will be addressed by service packs and hot fixes to be released by Blackboard. Technology Services will continue to evaluate and apply upgrades as quickly as we can wisely manage. Thank you for your patience as we partner with Blackboard to address your concerns for a stable, feature-rich online learning environment.
