OAT staff will be available at White Library for walk-in consultations beginning this week. The faculty development office, located across from the circulation desk, will be staffed Mondays and Tuesdays from 2-4pm. The purpose of OAT staff in the library will be to provide more accessibility to faculty as well as on-demand training for new tools. Beginning this week, faculty will be able to check out a clicker system for their classrooms. To use the resource, there is a 30-minute training requirement that can take place in the faculty development office. OAT staff will also be available for any other faculty consultation. Why Library?
Why hold consulting hours in the library? ”It allows us to serve faculty more on their turf”, says Randy Meredith, Director of Academic Technology. ”Many times our best encounters in serving faculty come out of a spontaneous or unexpected meeting. Spending a few hours in the library could help facilitate those and many more opportunities to serve.” OAT consulting hours will be temporary for the month of October. If consultation times in the library don’t accommodate schedules, OAT offices are available during normal business hours by appointment, phone, or chat. Contact OAT Staff
